Karam

A service of qardon.org for a senior who owns her home outright and can no longer manage alone. She is charged nothing, ever.

Specified, not yet built — not open

Karam is a service of qardon.org for seniors who own their home outright and can no longer manage alone: the home becomes a permanent endowment recorded in the senior’s own name, and in exchange the senior is designed to receive comprehensive, dignified care for the rest of her life — never charged a cent, and never priced to what the home is worth. The senior chooses what happens to the home — keep it, sell it interest-free to a family who then carries the care, or rent it — and whichever she chooses, the home’s value becomes a perpetual interest-free fund that carries her name. Karam is an old word for generosity: the generosity shown to her, and the far greater generosity that flows from her.

Karam is not open yet. The whole instrument waits on legal clearance: no real sale, no buyer note, no guarantee, no payment and no endowment happens before counsel has cleared it, and no vetted care network exists today. This page describes what Karam is and what safeguards are designed into it. It is an invitation to a conversation, not an offer, and nothing on it can be applied for.

What it does

What this page does not promise

How it connects to the ecosystem

Karam is a service of qardon.org — not a company of its own and not a Fotoh company — beside the lending record and Recovery. The endowment it creates is recorded by qardon.org, which records and does not hold; an interest-free sale of the home would run through qardon.com at one fixed price that never grows.
