Meathanah — The Digital Minaret

Meathanah (المئذنة — the minaret) is the archive and broadcasting engine of the Fotoh ecosystem: it receives what a masjid broadcasts, filters it, records it, cuts it into its true pieces, names them, and serves them back. It has no app of its own. It appears as the «مئذنة» surface inside Live Athan on the iPhone and inside Live Athan on Apple TV — there is nothing here to download. Its scope is the masajid’s own contents and the lectures that took place in the masajid, and nothing else.

What it does

• Detects the phase of a prayer event — athan, iqāmah, ṣalāt, the closing salām — and keeps one continuous broadcast through it
• The whole time inside the masjid is carried, by the founder’s own ruling — no call is cut short while you are in the masjid. The between-phase mute is off, and this page will not pretend otherwise.
• A content filter that refuses what a masjid channel must never carry
• Audio from the masjid’s own sound system where it exists, or from a phone inside the masjid through Masjid Mode
• The masjid’s recordings kept on the «مئذنة» shelf, with the masjid’s own controls over them — and the recording is byte-for-byte what the living rooms heard
• No follower count, no view count, no like and no trending list — none of those exist, by ruling
• A recording is never presented as live

How it connects to the ecosystem

Meathanah is the engine behind what Live Athan carries live and what it keeps. The masjid’s event schedule in MMS is where the metadata is born; MIS holds the masjid’s record. Where a masjid connects its own camera by its own hand, the requirement for that lives with Meathanah while the hardware question belongs to Haris — and Fotoh never watches, indexes or links to anyone else’s cameras.
