MIS — Masjid Information System

MIS is the engine underneath everything Fotoh does with masajid. It holds each masjid’s identity, position, timezone and prayer and iqāmah record, remembers what worshippers and masajid teach it, and serves that one record — with its source and its confidence labelled, and an honest empty state where the masjid has not published — to the Live Athan app, to the masjid’s own website and to the screens. It is infrastructure: there is no user interface and no consumer revenue, and nobody signs up for MIS. It does not crawl the world: a masjid enters the active set when a real worshipper appears for it.

What it does

• Serves a masjid’s standing iqāmah table with its source, its confidence and whether a human has verified it
• Accepts a correction from the masjid itself, from its own website, or typed by a worshipper — ranked in that order, and a phone entry never overrides what the masjid published
• Says plainly when a masjid has not published its iqāmah, rather than showing a calculated time as though the masjid had set it
• Renders each masjid’s public website from one shared template, and lets a worshipper start a masjid’s page for it
• Discovers a masjid when a worshipper asks for one nearby — not by speculative crawling
• No user interface; pure infrastructure. There is no census, no heat map and no map of where Muslims live — none of that was built.

How it connects to the ecosystem

MIS is the engine room behind the masjid-facing products. Live Athan reads its iqāmah record; the masjid’s own site and screens are rendered from it; MMS publishes into it. Masjid Builder is a module inside MIS, not a product of its own, and it has no user-facing interface.
